Annie is a leopard Appaloosa around 25 years old. She was left abandoned in a pasture for three years before the Kitsap Humane Society found her. However, they were unable to catch her, and therefore asked the Foundation to take direct possession. We did this as soon as we had an opening. It took several hours for Foundation volunteers to catch her and transport her to her new home.

Since then, she has become more comfortable around people as her trust is slowing returning. Her teeth and feet were in very bad condition when she came, and she has had many, many hoof trimmings to straighten them out. She is being rehabbed, but it is not yet certain whether she will ever be fully sound or rideable again. She is currently living at our Keyport extension.
