Eldorado is an approximately 13-year-old palomino Quarter Horse grade. His story is one of the sadder ones. He was rescued by a former Foundation student from a Southern Californian feed lot where he was being fattened for slaughter. The student hoped to use him as a saddle horse.

Unfortunately, he proved to be unrideable. He had been severely abused earlier in his life, which also resulted in a long-term injury, and had not psychologically or physically recovered. A professional horse trainer down in California declared him incorrigible and recommended he be euthanized; instead, he was trailored all the way to Harmony Farm in the hopes that the Foundation could take care of him.

When he arrived, he was treated immediately for the injury, which even now still inhibits him. Through the love, devotion, and care of one student in particular, Eldorado slowly learned to trust again, and can now be ridden, but only in a very limited way.
