Walker is a 7-year-old Tennessee Walking Horse. He was given to the Foundation
under rather unique circumstances. We took him with the promise that we would give him lifetime care and keep, which enabled
his former owner to open a safe house for abused children.
Before he was given to the Foundation, he was kept by himself in a box stall and therefore
had few social skills with both horses and humans when he arrived. He has improved, however, and gets along with both much
better now.
Walker also had little training when he arrived, but with diligent work from the Foundation's
older students, he is now rideable by younger students--though he is extremely stubborn! His natural running walk has also
given students a new riding experience, and he is one of the few fully sound horses the Foundation has.
