Equine Assisted Therapy

The Equine Assisted Therapy and Assisted Learning program is lead by Maryann Peachy-Warren. This program offers individuals with mental and physical disabilities the opportunity to experience horseman ship firsthand.

With the help of staff, participants walk through each step in the riding process including grooming, tacking-up, and riding one of our lesson horses. Each session lasts about one hour and offers a unique and invaluable experience to riders. The benefit being not only in the activity itself, but in the bond that is formed between the individual and their equine partner.

In addition to offering this service to private families the foundation also works with clients of both the Washington Department of Social and Health Services and our county’s mental health provider agency.
