Weekly Riding Lessons

Lessons in classes of four students each are offered by the Foundation as a way to help generate the income needed to support our herd as well as teach and promote good horsemanship. The fee structure at the Foundation provides each student four lessons a month at a fraction of the cost of private riding stables in the area.

Monthly student dues are only $200 for children 12 and under or $225 for 13 and up. All tack and gear for lessons are provided by the foundation. Both weekend and weekday classes are available.

Instructors adhere to the classic philosophy of riding in which the horse becomes a willing partner rather than a beast of burden for its rider. Our horses are never kicked, struck, yanked on or yelled at, but instead our students are taught to communicate with their horses in intelligent and effective ways.

Riding is just one aspect of the curriculum. In addition, every student is taught the basics of equine care and keep, including nutrition, first aid, health maintenance and stable management.
