Horse Harbor is operated entirely by volunteers, including its board, professional staff, and a dedicated group of riding students and individuals who all give their time and energy to help ensure the foundation can continue to provide sanctuary to horses in need.
In turn volunteers gain hands-on experience with a wide variety of horse-related activities such as dietary care, health maintenance, grooming, handling, equine first aid and stable management. Volunteers spend much of their time working closely with the resident herd and quickly become competent in many of these areas of horsemanship.
