The professional staff of Horse Harbor is the husband, wife and daughter team of Allen, Maryann and Aria Peachey-Warren. They serve in a volunteer capacity since the sanctuary has traditionally operated without a payroll and all funding is dedicated to the care and keep of the resident herd of rescued horses.
They are assisted by a dedicated group of both adult and teenage student volunteers who help ensure that every horse on the sanctuary is provided with the finest loving care throughout the remainder of its life.
Allen, a lifelong horseman, founded Horse Harbor in 1994 and is its President and Chief Executive Officer. Maryann, who joined him in 2005, is the organization’s Executive Director and manages the overall sanctuary operation. A Board-Certified Human Services Practitioner, Maryann developed the only state and county recognized equine assisted therapy program in the area.
Aria, an accomplished rider, grew up on the sanctuary and returned to join her parents after college to help make sure that Horse Harbor’s important work will continue into the future as the head instructor and barn manager.
